Jonathan graduated in 2002 as a biochemist and toxicologist from the University of Surrey (UK). He joined the UK's Food Standards Agency as a senior scientific officer on risk management of chemicals in food, including contaminants, pesticides and food contact materials.
In 2014 Jonathan joined DG SANTE of the European Commission as a policy officer on food contact materials. His work includes the evaluation and revision of the EU legislation, as well as policy on substances such as BPA and phthalates.
