Marco Zhong has been engaged in the safety of food contact materials for more than 20 years, specializing in analysis and risk assessment of chemical contaminants in food contact materials. He is a member of Review Committee for National Food Safety Standards in China, and has been actively engaged in drafting national regulations for food contact materials since 2013. He is leading the team now to draft the regulations for multilayer articles, wood and bamboo, paper and paper board, among the others, and to develop various analytical methods for specific migration.
Marco Zhong once participated in a FCMs programs In 2008 at JRC-CRL-FCM in Italy as a visiting scientist. He was also appointed Chairman of Expert Committee for FCMs in China Food Industry Association, and a member of Scientific Committee of ILSI Europe on preparation of 7th international Food Packaging symposium.
