Bastiaan Schupp is a chemical engineer and presently leads the food contact materials team in DG SANTE (DG health and food safety) of the European Commission. He has worked in the field of chemical risk management since 1999. He joined the Commission in 2005 working on major risks, and works on FCM since 2011. His present legislative responsibly includes implementing the present legislation on food contact materials, with a focus on plastics and recycled plastics.
